I'm lucky enough to be having Kate of Hills and Plains Seedsavers drop in for a few days during her Vegetable Vagabond tour of Kitchen Gardens.... She's due here in about a month, and, as I walked round the garden yesterday looking at various bits and pieces, I realised what a huge job there is to get ready for her.
We've exchanged a couple of emails and have discussed some of the things we are going to look at together, but from yesterday's perambulations, I'm not sure that I can actually beat a path to the willow tree, let alone make any sense of it when we get there.
My kitchen garden is tiny... really tiny.. and it still gets into a terrible mess... Kate is talking about expanding it.....
Up to now, I've grown what I consider safe crops.... Kate wants me to diversify....
And as for chickens....
So, if there are no new postings over the next couple of weeks you'll know that I'm busy in the garden....getting ready for Kate.

You've got me worried now, Ian. You told me Kate wouldn't mind if my garden was a mess!
Maybe Kate has a surprise for you Ian, maybe the whole seedsavers group is coming to France to garden! You have lots of land, you could have a giant veggie garden.
I shall send a truck load of SA organic compost today.
Hi chaiselongue, I'm sure she won't mind at all....
and maggie, the more the merrier as far as I'm concerned.... All helping hands are gratefully received...I'll look forward to that compost arriving.
Hope you enjoy your visit together. I visited a fellow veggie-blogger last year on a visit to Seattle. We have a special community online here.
Uh oh - are we supposed to get ready for Kate?? Yikes! ; ) The first thing I'll have to do is somehow turn off the rain in October...
